After the fall of the Republic of Venice in 1797, the French and Austrians met at Udine to discuss the Treaty of Campo Formio, which ended the War of the First Coalition and divided the spoils of Venice between them, Published in A.V. Arnault's 'Vie politique et militaire de Napoléon', Paris, 1822-1826.
